Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants founder and CEO Phil Stefani will be the recipient of the 2016 Chicago Classic Award at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s 19th Annual Grand Chefs Gala on Friday, January 29.
The Chicago Classic Award recognizes lifetime achievement in Chicago’s culinary scene. Phil Stefani has been a staple of the Chicago restaurant scene for over 35 years. He has operated some of the most successful fine dining establishments in the city and suburbs, including Phil Stefani’s 437 Rush, Riva Crab House and Tavern on Rush.
“I am so honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Stefani. “Chicago’s dining scene is very competitive, and to earn the Chicago Classic Award is a recognition of the years of hard work and dedication of all our staff.”
This year’s Grand Chefs Gala will be hosted by Jeff Mauro, host of the Food Network’s The Kitchen and Sandwich King.
“We are very excited to have Jeff Mauro host this special night. He’s not only a Food Network star, he’s also a member of the Chicago culinary community that this event celebrates,” said James Kallas, Division President of Eurest and Vice Chairman of the Illinois Restaurant Association.
The gala will take place at Grand Ballroom at Navy Pier, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2016. Tickets are $650 per person ($534 is tax-deductible) and $6,000 ($4,840 is tax-deductible) for a table of 10. Tickets are available at www.grandchefsgala.com.
The Grand Chefs Gala benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Greater Illinois and represents its largest annual fundraiser. This year the organization expects to raise more the $600,000 through the Gala.
