If you’re looking to celebrate Pride Day 2017 in Chicago, the festivities and parade in Lakeview are party central. But if you’re looking for something family friendly, Navy Pier is hosting its 2nd Annual Pier Pride Day festivities starting at noon on Saturday, June 24.
Navy Pier Pride Day is the second largest LGBTQ celebration in the city and includes a full day of activities. As part of the celebration, Navy Pier will welcome back The NAMES Project’s AIDS Memorial Quilt. The quilt will be on display to the public from Saturday, June 17 to Sunday, June 25 in the lower-level near Riva Crab House.
Pier Pride festivities begin at noon with fitness class near the Centennial Wheel. From there families can enjoy a story time activity and the grand parade down the Pier, featuring The Lakeside Pride Marching Band. The Pier Pride parade steps off at 2 p.m.
In the evening, international speaker Precious Davis will officiate Chicago’s Big Fat Gay Wedding, the largest same-sex wedding in the city. Phil Stefani’s Miller Lite Beer Garden will play host to a full lineup of local talent all evening long, including renowned DJ, Ron Geronimo, and Grammy Award-nominated remixer, composer and producer Ralphi Rosario. Chicago’s own Taylor Bennett and Big Dipper will also take the stage.
Pier Pride wraps up with a disco-themed firework show over Lake Michigan starting at 10:15 p.m.
Chicago’s premier seafood restaurant Riva Crab House on Navy Pier is happy again to participate in this year’s Pier Pride day festivities. We will offer our refreshing and delicious Riva Rainbow Cocktail. The Riva Rainbow is a colorful combination of Ketel One Vodka, Grenadine, Pineapple Juice and Blue Curacao that creates a stunning rainbow in a glass. Each Riva Rainbow is just $10 during Pier Pride.
