On
September 6, the outrageous human-powered flying competition
known as Red Bull Flugtag will once again soar over the Windy
City. This time, however, it’s headed to the waters
of North Avenue Beach where nearly 40 teams of fearless fliers
will take to the skies. This year’s Red Bull Flugtag
Chicago competitors have a lot to live up to – and we
do mean up. Flip the clock back five years and you may remember
King Kong, Snoopy the Red Baron and Larry the Flying Lobster
hitting the Chicago skies in front of over 70,000 revelers.

One of the best places on the beach for great food and ice
cold drinks is Castaways at the North Avenue Boathouse. Visit
this casual Phil Stefani Signature Restaurant -- The first
level features the Ice Cream Café and Beachside Burgers with
casual walk-up stands. Castaways Bar & Grill, on the rooftop
features great appetizers, sandwiches, fresh salads and refreshing
desserts. And of course, the cool beverages which include
pina coladas, margaritas, daiquiris and cold draft beer. Private
party space is available. Come join us for a most unique beach
experience.

• Labor Day – September 30, Everyday 11am-8pm, weather permitting.

PRIVATE EVENT FACILITIES:
• Castaways is available for private events, 50 people
or more, Monday-Friday from 11am-11pm. Sorry, we do not host
private events on Weekends or Holidays. Please call for minimum.
