It’s been a pretty sunny and warm spring so far in the Windy City, and Chicago is ready to head back to the beach!
That’s why we’re excited to announce that a staple of Chicago’s beach scene — Phil Stefani’s Castaways Bar & Grill at North Avenue Beach — will open Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
Castaways Bar and Grill is the top location on North Avenue Beach for tasty food and ice cold beverages. Castaway’s first level features beachside burgers with casual walk-up stands. The rooftop serves tasty appetizers, sandwiches, fresh salads and refreshing desserts.
Whether you’re stopping in for a refreshing cocktail, craving some appetizers or want to enjoy one of our fresh burgers, wraps or salads, Castaways has something for everyone with a menu featuring items from a selection of Stefani Restaurants across they city.

Castaways is an ideal location for corporate parties, special events, and casual banquets. Private events are available for groups of 50 to 500. There is no rental fee, only a food and beverage minimum. Private parties can only be held on weekdays.
