At Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants it’s all about family. Whether it’s creating warm and inviting dining environments in our restaurants or opening new spots, family is at the heart of everything we do.
That’s why we are so excited to announce that Phil and Karen’s son Anthony has now joined the restaurant group and will be opening his first eatery in the fall of 2017. Bar Cargo at 605 N. Wells St. in River North is currently under construction and will bring a slice of Italy back to Chicago.
A full-service restaurant and bar, Bar Cargo will feature Roman-style pizza made only with the best imported ingredients.
World class pizza Chef Massimo Moresi, will helm the kitchen and plans a menu of more than 25 varieties of pizza made with a crispier focaccia-like crust. Each crust will be handmade and raised in a special climate controlled cooler for up to 96 hours to achieve the same flavor and texture of crusts served in Rome.
The decor of the space will include cutout cargo containers in the bar and kitchen area, and an outdoor space will allow diners to enjoy those awesome Chicago summer dining seasons.
Anthony is the second of Phil and Karen’s children to open their own restaurant in the Windy City. Gina Stefani opened West Loop hotspot MAD Social in early 2016, and it’s been wildly popular ever since, earning many accolades from Chicago press and food bloggers.
While there is no opening date yet for Bar Cargo, Phil Stefani Signature Restaurants is excited to bring you our newest venture. Check this space regularly for an announcement for when service will begin!
